This year I decided to change the display colours from purple to peach and grey. My thinking was to use pretty contrasting colours while allowing my Tiny Bags to stand out more on the table. Purple was a great colour, but very strong.
The paint I used was Shabby Chic in Just Peach and Antique Silver. The silver works great with the lights in the doll’s house. I ordered small 125ml pots from eBay – although I had to reorder the peach. The paint covers well and dries quickly. I liked the catches that came with the pots of paint as they give a tight seal, which helps keep the paint from drying out.
NB: The paint has lasted well, with no need to repaint, even after many craft events.
After receiving positive feedback from a recent #BreconCraftMarket, I moved forward with the rest of the display. First I painted the small cabinets, which came up really well, before tackling the new wooden tree display, my sister had given me last Christmas. What do you think?
Finally I got a peach coloured cover for the table, crocheted silver grey mats and covers for the display tins, all of which really helped to bring the whole display together.
My ultimate goal is to ‘decorate’ the inside of the doll’s house so I can open it up and have the option of a different display for a bigger table space.
